Southend Family Resource Centre (FRC) work with families, young people and the community to identify and tackle causes and effects of unemployment, poverty and social isolation. The FRC programme is Ireland's largest National Family and Community based support programme, core funded by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
Southend FRC is home to a range of community groups, a meeting place and a source of information and support for individuals and families from the Southend area. By working with people of all ages and stages in life, we support families to build a healthy and thriving community.
Southend FRC provide, deliver and facilitate the following activities:
- Information, advice and support to target groups and families, information concerning the range of services and development options available locally and advice on accessing rights and entitlements.
- Onward referrals to mainstream service providers.
- Education courses and training opportunities to support personal growth and skills development.
- Establishment and maintenance of new community groups to meet local needs and deliver services at the local level.
- Support services to individuals and groups.
- Creating capacity and leadership within communities.
- Personal and group development opportunities.
- Providing practical assistance to individuals and community groups, such as access to information technology and office facilities.
- Parenting Programmes.
- Rainbows Parental Separation / Bereavement Programmes.
Target Age Group The centre works with individuals (all ages) and families offering a range of family supports.
Eligibility Criteria Southend FRC is inclusive of all families / individuals from their catchment area and surrounding areas.
Referrals Self referrals, local schools, organisations that support vulnerable families, public health nurse, GP, Tusla
